The OCZ Behemoth is, well, a behemoth. This thing is the widest mouse I've ever seen. Like, seriously, its huge (pictures don't do it justice). There's even room for your pinky to rest on it. You could probably use it as some sort of hand pillow or something if you were so inclined...though that'd be a little weird. It actually has indentions specifically designed for ring and pinky fingers of all sizes (right handers only, though). Add to that its rubberized surface, and you'll have a grip like no other.

The OCZ Behemoth sports 5 different programmable buttons, plus 1 devoted to dpi switching at your convenience. The DPI button allows you to switch between 800, 1600, 2400, and 3200 DPI as you please. It uses a dual laser system to improve its quality of tracking as well, so that you always have accurate tracking whatever dpi you decide to go with.

The weight system is pretty much what we're coming to expect from new gaming mice these days. The weight on the OCZ Behemoth is adjustable thanks to 5 weights that you can stack up or remove from the base of the mouse depending on your preference and maneuverability.

Another neat little thing about the Behemoth is that it has a cloth braided cord that you can adjust the positioning of. What is this good for? Well, if you don't like the standard top side of the mouse having the cord, you can switch it up to match whatever the best positioning happens to be for your particular setup (coming out the side, off to the left or right a little, whatever you please). Very cool, I gotta say.

The Razer Mamba is an EXTREMELY fast wired and wireless (whatever floats your boat) gaming mouse. With tracking speeds as high as 5600 dpi, you know you're gonna be faster than anyone else. At such a high speed, though, you can often get what I like to call, "spastic mouse."

To fix this problem, all you need to do is remove the silver ring that's around the bottom of the sensor (at your own risk, though I had no problems). This completely solved that particular issue for me (though you also have the option of reducing the dpi, of course, or getting a very bumpy mouse pad).

As far as appearance...well, its dang sexy. The first thing I noticed about the Mamba right off the bat was that its appearance reminds me so much of the Razer Deathadder. That's a compliment, though, as the Deathadder is an extremely popular gaming mouse with gamers all over. It has sort of a webbed foot thing going for it, and I gotta admit that I totally dig it. This bad boy(or girl, depending on who you ask), feels great in the hand, too.

Whether you prefer wireless or wired gaming, you're going to love the Mamba. You're free to pick whichever one you prefer, though the battery life of the wireless approach seems a tad short for my tastes. All of the buttons on the Mamba are easily programmable via the Razer software menu (there's 7). That menu itself is very simple and straight forward, so you shouldn't have any trouble setting up all the buttons just the way you like 'em.

Ok, so enough of the review. Here's the exact specs for those interested:

Dual Mode Wired/Wireless Functionality

Razer Synapse™ On-board Memory

Seven independently programmable Hyperesponse™ buttons

5600DPI Razer Precision™ 3.5G Laser sensor

1000Hz Ultrapolling™ / 1ms response rate

Up to 200 inches per second (Depends on surface used) / 50g acceleration

Battery Life: 14hrs (continuous gaming); 72 hours (normal gaming usage)

To sum up:

Is it beautiful? Yes.

Is it pure awesome? Yes.

Is it expensive? Yes.

But is it worth it? Most definitely.

The Razer Lachesis gaming mouse will make your opponents flee in terror. With 9 programmable buttons and a 1ms response time, this things a beast of a mouse. It has the norm of 32KB of onboard memory so you can store as many as 5 gamer profiles on the thing.

At 4000 dpi (yea, we said 4000), this bad boy is the fastest tracking mouse on the market. You can adjust your dpi on the fly as with most mice, of course, and you can fine tune your adjustments with increments of 125 dpi. Also with many mice these days, it totes an ambidextrous design; meaning that its suitable for a righty or a lefty equally.

Ok, now that we got the impressive stats outta the way here's what we think. Its a decent mouse, but it has some problems. Some people may like the slimmed down design of the mouse, but we do not. Its just a little TOO slim to be comfortable. All 9 buttons are reachable enough, it just doesn't feel nice, that's all.

There also seems to be some issues with the tracking. Maybe 4000 dpi is just too overkill or something, because the tracking can be a bit erratic at times. Supposedly there's a firmware update to fix this, but thus far it hasn't done anything wonderous for us (though others have reported that it fixed all their woes). I've also read that you can pull off the plastic covering that is on the bottom of the mouse partially interrupting the laser, but that hasn't helped us either.

Basically what it seems to come down to is chance. Some people have reported that their mouse plays beautifully with no problems at all, makes their bed, and cooks them bacon and eggs in the morning. Ours, however, does none of these things, and even throws sticks of butter at us when we suggest breakfast.

This mouse currently only comes in "Banshee Blue" though 2 other colors are reported to be on the way.

Today, its still pretty fast, but not quite as top-end as some newer mice on the market. You can opt for the Plasma model, the Chameleon, or you can get the Salamander model which has a pretty sweet looking glow effect (shown in photo). I believe both the Chameleon and Plasma models have been discontinued, though, and as such are rather difficult to find.

The mouse itself has 7 buttons. The 2 main buttons are quite large, taking up almost half of the entire length of the mouse, and they're made of rubber (ya know, if your fingers sweat a lot or...something). The rest of the buttons are great too, and I had no problem reaching any of them during my gami...uh, testing with the mouse. For the review, cus I was testing it, NOT slacking off and playing games all week with it...yea. Oddly, though, I seem to be in the minority in this. Others have reported that they have some difficutly holding the mouse without accidently clicking one of the side buttons, but I have yet to experience this problem.

Labeled by Razer as a, "fragging masterpiece" the Deathadder definitely lives up to the hype. At an average price point of 50-60 dollars, its not exactly cheap, though when compared to other gaming mice of similar capabilities its actually fairly priced.

The Deathadder runs at 1800 dpi and totes the norm of 5 programmable buttons. The 2 main buttons look and feel as 1 button, though they work exactly as they should with your fingers in their respective 2 button positions. It actually makes the mouse feel more fluid without losing any functionality, which is a definite bonus in our minds.

The texture of the mouse itself is great, and doesn't feel odd at all (as some mice occasionally do). The weight feel just right, not too light and not too heavy. Also, if you don't like the way the lights on it look, you can change them in the mouse drivers settings. Why you'd want to is beyond us, though, as we think the pulsing lights look friggin' sweet.

Unfortunately, this mouse is made for rightys. If you're a left handed user, then you'll need to look elsewhere for your gaming mouse needs. Other than that, though, we really have no complaints.

The Razer Copperhead is a pretty slick mouse. Whether you want it in Anarchy Red, Chaos Green, or Tempest Blue makes no difference to the mouse's awesome abilities; though it is nice that you can order what color sets off your setup best.

At 2000 dpi, this bad boy is definitely among the best laser tracking mice around. It has the ability to store 5 gaming profiles as well, which is becoming pretty standard for most gaming mice. The software that comes with the mice allow for quite a few adjustments and tweaking of settings.

You can adjust scroll wheel speeds, double click speeds, and it has 7 programmable buttons (hard to notice from photos). The one gripe we have is that some of the buttons, specifically the ones on the right of the mouse feel a little hard to get to. Maybe this could gotten used to with time, but there's no way to say with any certainty at the moment.

It should also be noted that you need to take care when updating the firmware of this mouse. If you do it incorrectly it can be hard for some to fix the error, and their mouse could turn into a paper weight instead of the awesome mouse that it is.

The X5 isn't much different than the original Sidewinder, to be honest. There have been a few material changes and a couple things dropped from the original, but for the most part its the same mouse. However, the changes do allow the X5 to go for cheaper than the original model, so there is that. You could call it the bargain Sidewinder, I suppose.

So what'd they change? They changed the thumb buttons and scroll wheel to plastic (they were metal). They got rid of the LCD screen (guess no one but me find it interesting?). The ability to switch through your dpi settings on the fly is still present, of course, but you can no longer adjust the weight of the mouse.

When it comes down to it, its pretty odd to release a new mouse that is less than its predecessor. Still, though the Sidewinder X5 isn't bad, its actually quite good; it just loses a few things that the previous model has (as we already mentioned). The feel of the mouse remains the same, so some of you might like it while others might hate it, and no way to say which is which until you lay hands on it. Best to hit a store and feel it out before buying it online (to save money, of course).

The Sidewinder is Microsoft's best available type of gaming mouse. This review focuses on the original model as opposed to later ones in the series. The original has on the fly dpi switching with 3 buttons, from which you can switch between 2000, 800, and 400 dpi. You can also customize these settings using software if you so desire, but these presets are pretty good out of the box.

The mouse has an LCD display that shows its macro recording icons in addition to its current dpi settings, and its 5 programmable buttons will make any gamer jump for joy. As with many of today's gaming mice, it has weights so that you can adjust how heavy or light you desire your mouse to be.

If you're a fan of FPS then this mouse will definitely pique your interest. It has a "quick turn" button that you can assign, and what this does is turn you around 180 degrees so you can check behind you for enemies or just flee quickly from large numbers. All in all, a very useful little trick to have, and kudos to Microsoft for including it.

All said, its a fairly good, long lasting gaming mouse if you're in need of one. Its unique design seems to irritate some and cause ecstasy in others, so that's definitely something to consider. If the look intrigues you, pick it up and give it a test run. If it makes you cringe, then you'll likely not find it to be very comfortable.

At 1600-dpi the response time from this mouse is outstanding, for sure. That's not to say you can't change this up quickly with the MX518's quick shift controls to suit your needs, though.

Shaped just right for most hand sizes, the 8 programmable buttons aren't too stiff or too soft at all. You can change your resolutions with these buttons at the drop of a hat, in addition to flipping between programmed settings, and dpi as mentioned above.

The one gripe I have about this mouse is that it doesn't seem to have a long lasting quality to it. Sometimes after a few months it starts to fail completely (as in, it doesn't work at all). The most likely occurance, though, seems to be that the tracking of the scroll wheel starts to give. It goes from great movement to needing multiple rolls before it registers that you're scrolling it. In short, this is a great mouse for gaming, but only if you don't mind picking a new one up every 3-4 months.

The Logitech G9 is a much more boxlike mouse than I've seen before, but that doesn't mean its uncomfortable. If you don't like the initial feel of it, the Logitech G9 actually comes with 2 different grips so that you can choose to swap in whichever grip you feel more comfortable with.

At 3200 dpi, its fast as greased lightning! Not only that, but it has a memory chip that's capable of storing up to 5 different setting profiles, and allows for switching of dpi settings on the fly. Not to mention the fact that it also has the ability to swap out weights for fine tuning of the weight of the gaming mouse.

Did I mention the fact that this bad boy had 9 awesome buttons? I don't think I did, so lets talk about that for a second. There are 2 main buttons, 2 thumb buttons, 2 adjustment buttons, and the mouse wheel of course serves as a button when clicked down. But whats cool is the fact that the mouse wheel is directional, which means you can push it left or right and it serves as 2 more buttons that way.

To add to all of this greatness, it also gives you the ability to have custom led colors for its lighting which is pretty dang sexy (at least I seem to think so). Whether you prefer a red glow, blue, or hot pink polka dots, the Logitech G9 can do it. Ok, so maybe not that last one, but it does have about 204 color choices for you to play with for your LED lighting!

Of course, not all mice are without their flaws. A few people seem to find this mouse a tad on the small side for their tastes, and the wide grip style for it being a little too smooth. There also seems to be some who find its boxlike shape a bit uncomfortable, even with the 2 different grip choices.

All in all, this gaming mouse has more features than you could ever want. If you're looking for something thats sexy and powerful, its the mouse for you. If you're looking for something that does the job well while being super comfortable, then you might want to look at the G5 instead.
